Why “Three Gens”?

It started
with my dad.

A grandfather in a Cardinals cap holding a sleeping baby
The beginning. And the next generation.

My dad, Jay, collected Topps flagship baseball sets from 1973 through 2022. That tradition became part of our family, and it’s the foundation of Three Generations Collecting.

I’m Josh. Today, I’m carrying his collection forward and building something for my son, Henry, to grow into. My dad, me, and my son. That’s the three generations.

This business brings together the things I enjoy collecting and the people I’m building it for. Whether you’re finishing a set or finding a favorite from your childhood, I’m glad you’re here.

In honor of my dad, Jay

Keeping our connection alive.

My dad sparked my love of collecting. As our family faces his journey with dementia, these cards and the memories behind them carry even more meaning. Three Generations Collecting supports Alzheimer’s awareness in honor of Jay and the families facing this disease.

Every set I build for Henry carries a little of what my dad passed down to me.

The personal collection

A year of baseball.
A lifetime to share.

I’m building a 2025 Topps baseball collection for Henry, with the goal of making it one of the most complete ever assembled. Base cards, inserts, and the details that make a set worth exploring.

It’s a long-term project that connects the collection my dad built with the one I hope to share with my son.

What makes this collection special?

2025 is the year Henry was born. The goal reaches beyond a single set or a few big cards: it’s about documenting the breadth of that year’s Topps baseball releases and preserving it for him. Follow along as the collection grows.
